Job Title: Provider Enrollment Specialist

At The University of Kansas Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled Provider Enrollment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely enrollment of healthcare providers with government and commercial payers.

Responsibilities:
  • Enroll and validate practitioners with government and commercial payers, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the workflow of application documents, including mailing, approval, denial, and termination letters.
  • Process applications accurately and promptly, maintaining the enrollment database and communicating provider changes to contracted health plans and departments.
  • Develop and maintain reports from the department database, providing custom data searches and analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate with practitioner and department management to ensure timely completion of signature requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve database questions and concerns, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Prepare materials and files necessary for external audits, maintaining ongoing communication with health plan representatives and practitioners.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience as a credentialing specialist or in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in a related field of study.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification.
