Speech-Language Pathologist Opportunity at Jamaica Hospital

We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Jamaica Hospital. As a member of our highly trained Speech Pathology team, you will provide daily Speech Language Pathology, diagnostic and therapeutic services and interventions for children, adolescents and adults.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide communication/cognitive and swallowing evaluation and treatment across inpatient rehabilitation, acute care and outpatient coverage areas.
  • Implement augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with a variety of head/neck cancer and manage aspects of their communication and swallowing.
  • Screen, identify, assess, diagnose, treat, and follow-up services for disorders of speech, language, voice, cognition, and oral-pharyngeal swallowing.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Licensed and ASHA certified SLP with experience in instrumental swallowing evaluations (MBS & FEES preferred).
  • Possess American Speech and Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience in the management of patients with head and neck cancer in all aspects of communication and swallowing.
