About the Role

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Fairview Health Services. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and prioritize work to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Perform excellent patient care and verify patient identification and documentation
  • Perform examinations and identify relevant data from images accurately
  • Use appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family and other customer needs
  • Communicate pertinent data clearly to the appropriate healthcare professional
  • Participate in creating a culture of patient safety
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency preparedness
  • Communicate with and educate patients regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the exam
  • Achieve quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
  • Apply established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures
  • Ensure patient data integrity and adhere to diagnostic testing protocols/procedures
  • Accurately document in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, complete computer functions, edit, scheduling, and billing status changes
  • Follow infection control guidelines and serve as a resource for other healthcare team members
  • Respond appropriately to emergent situations
  • Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
  • Assess the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances
  • Act as a resource for problem-solving resolution
  • Complete all required continuing education to uphold imaging licensure
  • Participate as an active team member
  • Participate in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
  • Clean and maintain room and supplies
  • Provide integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high-quality care
  • Contribute to a positive work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Correctly operate equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines
  • Identify and respond to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly
  • Maintain a high level of competency
  • Follow MRI Safety protocols
  • Accept new technology as it's introduced into the facility
  • Participate in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations
  • Demonstrate ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of the population served
Requirements
  • Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • Basic Life support - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before date of hire
  • Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
  • Preferred: 1 or more years of experience and Advanced Certification in MRI
