Key Responsibilities:
The main role of an Automotive Lube Technician is to ensure a safe and exceptional service experience for our clients. Technicians engage in hands-on work with vehicles, which includes changing oil and filters, replenishing fluids, monitoring tire pressure, and cleaning windows. They must also be capable of interpreting documents such as safety guidelines, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals, while effectively communicating with clients and colleagues.
- Execute both entry-level and advanced lube technician tasks, focusing on fluid assessments and basic upkeep.
- Replace a vehicle's oil, assess transmission fluid and other fluid levels, examine various belts and filters, and verify air levels and gauges.
- Training will be provided; however, candidates should possess a fundamental understanding of vehicle maintenance.
- Support technician mechanics in executing technical tasks.
- Continuously pursue and acquire new technical knowledge, tools, and techniques through formal training sessions to keep pace with rapidly evolving technology.
- Inform store management of mechanical repair issues as they arise.
- Safeguard and maintain work tools.
- Deactivate and secure equipment when not in operation.
- Uphold an organized, clean, and hazard-free workspace.
Candidate Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in automotive mechanics is preferred.
- Possession of necessary hand tools for the services performed.
- Proficient knowledge of shop tools and equipment, including scanners, fluid exchange systems, and lift operations.
- Comfortable with reading and entering information on a computer screen.
- Ability to recognize, understand, and respond to changing customer needs; capable of working effectively under deadline pressure.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong customer service skills, demonstrating politeness, cooperation, and a team-oriented attitude.
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading and writing.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and the ability to operate various types of vehicles; must be insurable.
Working Conditions: Candidates must be able to stand on concrete or metal surfaces for extended periods. The work environment may experience extreme temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes. Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds is required. Candidates should be prepared to stand and move for six to eight hours daily, as well as perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and grasping tools and other items throughout the shift.
