Conductor Trainee

Job Summary:

BNSF Railway is seeking a Conductor Trainee to join our team. As a Conductor Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient movement of trains.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the safe and efficient movement of trains
• Perform duties as a member of the train crew
• Assist in the operation of locomotives and railcars
• Monitor and report on train conditions and performance
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds
• Ability to see, learn, and interpret hand signals from near and far
• Ability to discriminate and differentiate between verbal and non-verbal sounds
• Ability to use hands and use hand tools to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning, and pulling
• Ability to climb ladders and get on/off equipment
• Ability to work at various heights above the ground
• Ability to bend, lift, walk, and stand occasionally with breaks
• Ability to sit frequently with breaks
• Follow safety policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a related field
• Knowledge of railway operations and safety procedures
