Job Summary:

C F Martin & CO Inc is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment required for the direct manufacturing of guitars. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance personnel, coordinating with external contractors, and ensuring the smooth operation of the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair: Manage and support mechanical and electrical repairs to production equipment and machinery.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule and coordinate all electrical, mechanical, carpentry, welding, lubrication, and mechanical repairs, including services provided by outside contractors.
  • Capital Investments: Support the implementation of new capital investments and ensure seamless integration into the production process.
  • Waste Management: Schedule all waste streams disposal and recycling, including hazardous waste, plant trash, scrap wood, sawdust, cardboard, metal, and other materials.
  • Environmental Health and Safety: Collaborate with the EHS department to ensure inspection compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Business Continuity: Support the execution of the business continuity plan as needed.
  • Plant Automation and Security: Maintain and administer the plant environmental automation and security systems, including on-call response requirements for alarms.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all production equipment.
  • Plant Layout: Support plant layout activities, from drawings to implementation.
  • Departmental Budgets: Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets.
  • Team Management: Consistently and positively manage team member performance by creating a motivated environment, setting goals, communicating expectations, and improving overall performance.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3-5 years' experience in industrial management.
  • Shop Floor Exposure: Significant shop floor exposure in a manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to set priorities, demonstrate leadership and teamwork qualities, and possess a self-starting and self-confident work style.
  • Communication and Human Relations: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in mathematics, and excellent human relations skills at all levels of the organization.
  • International Travel: International travel may be required.
