We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Bath Iron Works. As a key member of our Systems Integration organization, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of Combat Systems changes and providing technical leadership for all assigned systems and related tasks.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide technical leadership for all assigned systems and related tasks.
  • Develop and maintain Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models using CAMEO software for assigned systems.
  • Participate in and/or lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in early development of ship design.
  • Act as Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for significant CS changes.
  • Interface with the Navy, Navy Contractors, Functional Engineering, Class Design, BIW and HII Follow Yard Services to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and process Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) in accordance with schedule constraints.
  • Ensure that all developed ECPs meet applicable functional engineering and Navy specification requirements.
  • Provide technical support to Operations for the resolution of issues.
  • Provide support to Planning for development of accurate implementation plans.
  • Provide support to Estimating for development of accurate cost estimates.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to management and/or Navy personnel.
  • Develop ROM estimates for emergent CS Engineering work.
  • Participate in and/or lead off-site meetings and other events occasionally.
  • Head up special projects as assigned.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Engineer I - No minimum experience.
  • Engineer II - 2 years' minimum experience.
  • Engineer III - 3 years' minimum experience.
  • Sr. Engineer - 5 years' minimum experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and execute projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated, strong attention to detail with proven ability to work independently.
  • WINDOWS, WINDOWS software, and MS Office products operating skills are required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel required.
  • Ability to solve and explain complex technical issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work multiple priorities simultaneously, and to completion.
  • Familiar with Requirements Definition.
  • SECRET clearance or ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
  • Experience with Naval Ship Topside, Radar Systems, and Combat System Design.
  • CAD skills are desired.

Security Clearance:


This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration and you must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire.
