Job Summary

The Senior Systems Engineer will play a key role in developing a holistic monitoring solution for our enterprise. This includes designing monitoring, alerting, and analysis of full stack logs and metrics.

Responsibilities

The Senior Systems Engineer will automate deployment of monitoring solutions within our Production/Dev/Test environments. They will help design and implement monitoring solutions for our client-facing products. Additionally, they will develop statistical models of monitoring metrics and identify applicable trends within the integrated SaaS platform hosted on public and private cloud.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in multiple automation and management platforms such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Auto scaling technologies, Nagios (and variants), vROps, Sumologic, Solarwinds, Cloud Watch etc. They will also have experience with .net, SQL server, Ruby and MySQL technology stack with exposure to AWS, VMware at the minimum. Based on experience and industry knowledge, the Senior Systems Engineer will help maintain a cohesive technical strategy. They will effectively analyze and troubleshoot technical problems. Develop clear and accurate documentation. Experience with PowerBI, Tableau or any other reporting tool is a plus.

Qualifications

The Senior Systems Engineer will have superior verbal and written communication skills. They will exercise discretion and sound judgment; maintain confidentiality. Excellent organizational and time management skills are required. Proficiency in Google Apps (Gmail, Office Apps) and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary. The candidate will be dependable, punctual, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance. Ability to work independently and proactively; demonstrates initiative. Ability to make professional decisions based in accumulated knowledge of position responsibilities. Shows accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality. Ability to multi-task effectively. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment when required; high degree of tact. Commitment to excellence.

Education & Experience

B.S. in Computer Science, Informatics, Computer Engineering or other Engineering discipline required; Masters Degree preferred. Minimum 7 years working experience in the IT industry. Minimum 5 Years supporting large-scale, multi site environments. Experienced working on cross-functional teams/projects. Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and guide technical vision. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers, executives, customers and junior staff. Strong hands-on personality, results-oriented, pragmatic, high quality standards, ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong knowledge of Virtualization (VMware, ESX, vCOPS, AWS). Working knowledge of Automation technologies: Chef, Ansible, Powershell, Perl, Python, etc. Monitoring and Management tools: Solarwinds, CloudWatch, Sumologic, Nagios,NewRelic, Dynatrace, etc. Strong expertise in operating systems: Linux (RHEL/CentOS), Windows Server.
