Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our Data, Power & Control Division in Farmingdale, NY. This role is responsible for ensuring the final product meets customer specifications, documenting non-conformances, and maintaining related records.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform first-article inspection for sheet metal, welded, and painted parts
  • Ensure conformance to all specifications, customer requirements, and company practices
  • Conduct a thorough visual inspection of final products to identify defects or deviations from quality standards and customer specifications
  • Utilize measuring tools and equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Audit production lines to document/record key production parameters
  • Perform pallet inspections to ensure proper packaging before release for shipping
  • Complete final inspection reports
  • Ensure accuracy and organize inspection documentation as required in the database
  • Perform touch-ups as necessary
  • Complete assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications
  • Follow instructions as provided by the supervisor
  • Adhere to all company safety regulations and support safety policies and improvements
  • Cooperate with other employees in the department to maintain a safe working environment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, spec sheets, and bill of materials is required
  • Basic understanding of sheet metal, welding, and machining processes is required
  • Previous experience reading engineering blueprint required
  • Ability to use a Caliper and basic measuring tools for quality assurance
  • Basic understanding of ISO requirements is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills are required
  • Meticulous attention to details is required
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Ability to arrive promptly for shift and stand and/or walk for duration of shift is required
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, kneel, bend, and use a step ladder or stool is required
  • Capable of lifting 45 pounds is required
  • Capable of working in a manufacturing environment is required
