Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute innovative outreach campaigns to inform and engage seniors and older adults about City of Jacksonville programming and resources
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations to enhance the reach and effectiveness of our senior services programs
  • Organize and attend community events to promote our senior services programs and services
  • Create informational materials such as brochures, flyers, and social media content for our senior services programs
  • Manage all division social media accounts and conduct needs assessments and surveys to identify gaps in services for older adults in the community
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities effectiveness and impact
  • Collaborate with other City of Jacksonville divisions to ensure comprehensive and community-wide service delivery for older adults
  • Oversee and approve presenters and speakers at City of Jacksonville senior centers
  • Develop outreach initiatives that align with the local Area Agency on Aging's annual targeting and outreach plan
  • Provide reports to grantors on time and work with local print, audio, and visual news outlets to promote division events and activities
Requirements:
  • A six-year combination of education and experience in public relations or communications
  • A valid driver's license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class
  • CPR and First Aid Certification is required within six months of appointment and must be maintained
