Role Summary:

The Culinary Operations Supervisor plays a vital role within the management team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position is accountable for overseeing meal preparation and service, ensuring a safe kitchen environment, and maintaining compliance with food service regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and serving of meals in alignment with funding guidelines.
  • Implement food safety protocols and ensure kitchen staff adherence.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including kitchen logs and compliance records.
  • Plan and design menus for various food service outlets.
  • Manage procurement of kitchen supplies, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
  • Ensure proper staffing and operational efficiency while controlling food waste and labor costs.
  • Develop training programs to enhance staff knowledge on hygiene and safety practices.
  • Create standard recipes and preparation techniques to ensure consistent quality.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to refine policies and procedures that enhance service quality.
  • Conduct regular assessments of kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Working Conditions:

This role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs, standing for extended periods, and operating kitchen equipment. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the kitchen operates daily.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years in food preparation and management.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and pass a background check.
