Job Summary

The University of Utah is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join its Salesforce team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting data-related tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Your strong foundation in SQL and relational database concepts, particularly with Oracle and/or PeopleSoft, will enable you to design and implement data mapping between Salesforce and PeopleSoft systems.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Salesforce team to manage and align data models between Salesforce and PeopleSoft.
  • Execute and maintain SQL scripts and proactively monitor and troubleshoot data feeds for accurate data transfers between systems.
  • Assist in the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data to meet specific project needs.
  • Ensure all data-related tasks are compliant with data governance standards, privacy laws, and institutional data security policies.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality and accuracy of data across Salesforce and PeopleSoft systems through rigorous validation and quality checks.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) and process workflows.
  • Engage with internal team members and external peer DAs to address cross-system integration needs and data alignment.
  • Work directly with the university's Data Stewards to process and document data access requests, particularly for sensitive institutional records.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Two to four years of experience in the field or related area.
  • Strong skills in SQL and relational databases, ideally with experience in Oracle and/or PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform nuanced analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
