Position Title: Quality Inspector/CMM Operator

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Quality Inspector/CMM Operator is responsible for the programming and inspection of components utilizing Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) based on technical drawings and 3-D models.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and document part programs for the CMM using PC-DMIS or other relevant software.
  • Implement First Article and Final Parts Inspection processes to verify compliance with specifications and dimensions.
  • Utilize a Coordinate Measurement Machine to ensure parts meet specified tolerances, along with other dimensional metrology tools as necessary.
  • Select appropriate measurement techniques to enhance the repeatability and reproducibility of results.
  • Identify and document out-of-tolerance conditions through Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMR) in a digital database.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties independently and effectively. The following qualifications are required:

  • Proficient in reading blueprints in both English and Metric systems.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in CMM programming with PC-DMIS software.
  • Experience with hand gauging tools commonly used for surface plate inspections, such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Machining experience is considered an advantage.
  • An Associate degree or equivalent from a technical institution is preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

Fluency in English is essential, with the ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and technical specifications.

MATH SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret data from various sources, including charts and specifications.
