Job Responsibilities
The Radiology Technologist is responsible for executing diagnostic imaging procedures in alignment with Radiologist protocols. Adhering to established radiographic standards and regulations is essential to guarantee patient safety and care. Additionally, this role encompasses basic laboratory tasks, including phlebotomy and fundamental lab testing.

  • Conduct general imaging, which may encompass specialized imaging such as Orthopedics.
  • Position imaging apparatus and modify techniques based on patient body characteristics.
  • Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Document, process, and maintain patient information within the electronic medical record and PACS system.
  • Complete all image processing tasks and quality control testing, ensuring compliance with Radiologist protocols for diagnostic image quality.
  • Implement radiation safety protocols and protective measures to comply with regulatory standards, ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
  • Engage with patients to clarify procedures, gather clinical history, confirm understanding, and address any inquiries or concerns.

Educational Requirements
Graduation from an accredited or approved Radiological Technology program is required.

Experience Requirements
1-3 years of current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology is preferred. Clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year of current clinical experience. Less than one year of phlebotomy and basic lab testing experience is also preferred.

Licenses and Certifications
Required certifications include:

  • The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification upon hire.
  • Radiographer License issued by the state of Wisconsin upon hire.
  • CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from an approved program upon hire.

Physical Demands
Physical activities required for this position include:

  • Standing and walking constantly.
  • Occasional sitting, bending, squatting, and lifting/carrying weights up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent twisting and reaching, with the ability to manipulate equipment effectively.

Working Conditions
Work conditions may involve:

  • Occasional exposure to noise and hazards.
  • Minimal exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity.

Vision and Hearing Requirements
Vision must be correctable to meet specific standards, with the ability to discriminate colors and maintain near and distance vision. Hearing capabilities must allow for effective communication in various settings.
