Job Responsibilities
The Radiology Technologist is responsible for executing diagnostic radiographic procedures in alignment with Radiologist protocols. Key duties include:
- Conducting general imaging, which may encompass specialized imaging such as Orthopedics.
- Positioning imaging equipment and adjusting techniques based on patient body type.
- Performing phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests as directed by healthcare providers.
- Recording, processing, and maintaining patient information within the electronic medical record and PACS system.
- Completing all image processing tasks and quality control testing, adhering to Radiologist protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality.
- Implementing radiation safety measures and protective devices to comply with regulatory standards, ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
- Engaging with patients to explain procedures, gather clinical history, confirm understanding, and address any questions or concerns.
Education Requirements
Graduation from an accredited or approved program in Radiological Technology is required.
Experience Requirements
1-3 years of current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology is preferred. Clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year of current clinical experience. Less than one year of phlebotomy and basic lab testing experience is also preferred.

Licenses and Certifications
Required certifications include:
- The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification upon hire.
- Radiographer License issued by the state of Wisconsin upon hire.
- CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from an approved program upon hire.
Physical Demands
Physical requirements for this role include:
- Frequent standing and walking.
- Occasional sitting, bending, squatting, and lifting.
- Constantly using hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation.
Working Conditions
Working conditions may involve occasional exposure to noise and hazards.
Vision and Hearing Requirements
Vision requirements include color discrimination and near and distance vision, while hearing requirements involve the ability to hear whispers at various distances.
