Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Active Living Program Supervisor to join our team at Cabarrus County, NC. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and promoting cultural, recreational, and informational programs for older adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement programs for older adults and adults with disabilities, including research to determine changing needs of the older adult population.
  • Maintain records and files, and conduct research to determine changing needs of the older adult population.
  • Coordinate programs and activities with other community agencies, and recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for various programs.
  • Coordinate the use of Senior Center facility, book reservations, process forms, collect and account for fees, and serve as facilitator/hostess for the Senior Center.
  • Work with cultural, educational, civic groups to offer diverse programming for older adults and adults with disabilities, and respond to citizen suggestions and inquiries for program improvements.
  • Attend meetings as required, and perform related tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Requires graduation from an appropriately accredited college or university with major course work in recreation, leisure management, gerontology, or related field, and some professional experience in community or group recreation activities with older adults.
  • Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina, and possession of CPR and first aid certification.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
