The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Mental Health, Social Work, or Art Therapy, as well as a valid New York State Mental Health Counselor License or equivalent. A minimum of one year's experience in a mental health setting is required, with skills in counseling, therapy, and crisis intervention.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing personalized treatment plans
- Providing individual and group therapy sessions, promoting client recovery and wellness
- Collaborating with clients and families to establish goals and interventions
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of client records
In addition to your clinical expertise, you will be expected to participate in on-call rotations and provide crisis evaluations in collaboration with emergency departments. A clear understanding of the importance of cultural sensitivity, empathy, and effective communication is essential for success in this role.
