We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at Ronin Staffing, LLC. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing various surfaces for painting, applying paints, stains, and varnishes, and performing maintenance and repair tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare surfaces for painting, including washing, dewaxing, patching, plastering, caulking, taping, glazing, repairing, sanding, and scraping.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, and other topcoats and finishes using rollers, brushes, and sprayers.
- Perform body work, such as using automotive body fillers, and apply proper primers and bonds for priming metal surfaces.
- Maintain and repair equipment, sprayers, sanders, paint shakers, and other tools.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Perform computer input for recording labor and materials used in work performed.
- Collaborate with other skilled trades and Facilities Services team members to complete minor renovation projects and maintenance tasks.
- 4 years of journey-level experience in the painting skilled trade related to maintenance, repair, and construction.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, man-lifts, and boom trucks at varying heights of up to 25 feet above grade; lift up to 75 pounds; perform repetitive lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Ability to record information accurately and estimate time, methods, and materials needed from construction documents.
- Knowledge and ability to properly and safely work with colorants, paints, primers, solvents, patching compounds, sealers, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, and thinners.
- Ability to work in confined and dusty spaces and wear respirator or other required safety gear.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme and inclement weather conditions.
- Experience in safe and proper procedures with removal/abatement of lead-based paint.
- Experience operating shop equipment, power, and hand tools common to the skilled trade.
The Painter will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to extreme temperature conditions, confined and dusty spaces, and unpleasant sights and smells. The ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service is essential.
