WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires moderate physical exertion, including extended periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching overhead, and occasional pushing, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 30 lbs. The role involves frequent movement between buildings on campus and regular exposure to moderate levels of heat, cold, moisture, fumes, odors, poor ventilation, dust, as well as chemical and mechanical hazards.

Position Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that the facilities are cleaned daily to maintain a healthy and inviting environment conducive to learning.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect restrooms to ensure they are well-stocked and sanitized.
  2. Monitor and clean various areas as required during the daily routine.
  3. Maintain organization in janitorial supply closets.
  4. Regularly check and empty exterior trash receptacles as needed.
  5. Vacuum upholstered furniture as necessary.
  6. Perform spot cleaning on walls and windows as required.
  7. Clean chalkboards and smart boards as needed.
  8. Ensure entrances are tidy, empty outside ashtrays, and keep the surrounding area free of litter.
  9. Attend to student lounge areas for cleanliness during mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
  10. Regularly dispose of recyclables in the appropriate locations and clean receptacles as necessary.
  11. Inspect parking lots for litter and dispose of it properly.
  12. Observe for general maintenance needs and report them to the Facilities Manager.
