Job Summary:

The Senior Community Health Nurse will provide professional nursing services to students in a school setting, coordinating and providing clinical services and activities in the school clinic. The nurse will be responsible for supervising the school health technician or LPN, if assigned, and will provide health education and counseling to students and parents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing services to students in a school setting
  • Coordinate and provide clinical services and activities in the school clinic
  • Supervise the school health technician or LPN, if assigned
  • Provide health education and counseling to students and parents
  • Monitor student health records and conditions
  • Prepare and maintain the school clinic area for use
  • Perform basic health assessments and evaluations of students
  • Administer medication and treatment as needed
  • Document all services provided to students

Requirements:

  • Licensure as a nurse in accordance with Florida Statutes and Rule 64B9, Florida Administrative Code
  • Valid Nursing License and American Heart First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience working with children
