Position Summary:

The primary goal of this role is to facilitate the manual transfer of materials, either by hand, using a manual pallet jack, or employing a lifting device as specified in the standard operating procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Unload and stack materials by operating the lifting device connected to a hoist.
  • Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices manually as required.
  • Manually load components from storage areas to trays or kit carts.
  • Adhere to designated routes within the department for loading kit carts.
  • Manually load and unload components from the painting line.
  • Conduct safety inspections on necessary equipment.
  • Perform tasks safely and efficiently, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Utilize electronic scanners for material transactions as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in aisles.
  • Assist in training and instructing colleagues as requested by supervisors.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and other tasks as directed by Total Production Maintenance.
  • Perform other non-essential duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow established methods and procedures and execute work accordingly. Must demonstrate the capability to work quickly and under time constraints for extended periods.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 0 to 2 years.
  • Effective communication skills with supervisors and coworkers in both written and verbal forms, typically acquired through high school education or equivalent.
  • Standard travel requirement: less than 10%.

This position is represented by the United Steelworkers (USW) at Bobcat's Rogers location. Employees in this role must become members of the Union and maintain their membership in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.


Working Conditions:

Work is conducted in a shop environment, which includes proximity to moving mechanical parts, exposure to high noise levels necessitating hearing protection, and potential exposure to chemical hazards. Personal protective equipment is required.


Physical Demands:

The job is classified as medium duty, requiring employees to exert varying levels of force to move objects.
