Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach a Composition II course at our institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, evaluating student performance, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and course materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback to promote academic success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit grades in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with departmental and institutional goals.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in English or a related field with at least 18 credit hours in English.
  • Experience teaching college writing at all levels, preferably in a community college setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be expected to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on delivering high-quality instruction and student support. The position involves working in an office setting, with occasional standing, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Frequent reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work are also required.
