Join the Naval Nuclear Laboratory as an Electrical Engineer - Propulsion Plant Team Trainer and contribute to the design, development, and testing of advanced nuclear propulsion systems. As a key member of the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) Programs & Engineering subdivision, you will work on the design, fabrication, assembly, installation, testing, and delivery of the PPTT, a full-scale propulsion plant hardware simulator. Your expertise in electrical engineering will be essential in developing and testing the PPTT and its supporting systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and conduct independent work efforts throughout the project lifecycle
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are being met
- Perform electrical design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers as well as internal NNL stakeholders
- Support on-site hardware inspections and testing of production equipment at Supplier facilities and remote NNL sites
- Design, procure, install, test, and maintain the PPTT Test Platform, including electrical cabinetry and special-effect hardware demonstrators
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent design software
- Experience with audiovisual and telecommunications systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel
- Ability to work independently or in a group setting
- Competitive salary range: $62,000.00 - $94,900.00 annually
