Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise research investigators on human subject research proposals
  • Evaluate and amend protocol submissions
  • Facilitate educational workshops on research regulations and practices
  • Manage the Institutional Review Board (IRB) database
  • Serve as a liaison with external IRBs and regulatory bodies
  • Ensure adherence to federal compliance standards
  • Oversee animal research invoicing and ensure adherence to protocols
  • Prepare and sustain Federal-Wide Assurance and Animal Welfare Assurance documentation
  • Propose policies and procedures for the IRB and Animal Research Committee (ARC)
  • Report potential research misconduct
  • Develop and maintain the IRB/ARC Policies and Procedures Manual
  • Conduct audits of research protocols for compliance
  • Assist in grant management and proposal submissions
  • Assess the performance of administrative staff
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • CIP certification is mandatory; CPIA certification is advantageous
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred
  • A minimum of five years of pertinent IRB experience is necessary
