Job Overview

Harrison Western is seeking an experienced Civil/Geotechnical Superintendent to oversee on-site construction activities for projects across the nation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing laborers, operators, schedule, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed within timelines and budget, while adhering to the company's quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure site safety measures meet or exceed corporate safety manual, safety plan, client requirements, or any other authorities
  • Coordinate job personnel and materials, equipment, and all work activities to successfully complete tasks and projects on schedule
  • Ensure projects are constructed according to approved plans, specifications, and applicable policies and procedures, maintaining high quality standards
  • Lead and mentor crew members, promoting the company safety culture, goals, and objectives
  • Recruit and hire qualified individuals to maintain high-performing teams
  • Review crew timesheets, manage accurate reporting of labor and equipment hours, work within project budgets and schedules to achieve success
  • Complete and oversee all daily work documentation and other paperwork required, submitting on a timely basis
  • Conduct pre and post shift toolbox meetings to clearly communicate daily work scope and project goals to the crew
  • Ensure equipment operation is performed safely and within company, client, and regulatory agency requirements
  • Resolve plan and specification discrepancies with project team
Requirements
  • 8 years' experience in heavy civil and/or geotechnical construction required
  • 5 years' experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil and/or geotechnical construction required
  • Extensive experience in geotechnical construction methods including soil nails, ground anchors, micro piles, compaction, and permeation grouting, and other shoring and ground improvement techniques preferred
  • Solid understanding of modern construction practices, equipment operation
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, technical specifications, and survey
  • Ability to adapt information and communication style to the audience
  • Skilled at promoting teamwork to establish consensus among team and stakeholders
  • Capable of identifying key issues and patterns in moderately complex situations and spotting new, less obvious solutions
  • Ability to travel extensively to different jobsites throughout the United States
