Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant or LPN to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering health information.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, such as strep tests and wound cultures, using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
  • Assist physicians and advance practice providers with procedures and surgeries, including pelvic exams and EMGs.
  • Administer routine medications under physician orders, including immunizations and antibiotics.
  • Provide patient education on routine tasks and skills, and follow through on necessary procedures and test requests.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure smooth clinic flow and make adjustments as needed.
Requirements
  • LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice, and Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • MA: Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • LPN: Advanced training beyond high school in Practical Nursing.
  • MA: Completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding and navigation within electronic medical records systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop rapport with patients, family, staff, and physicians.
  • Good organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Advocate Health offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500 after a two-year commitment.
