MRI Technologist

As a skilled MRI Technologist at CHRISTUS Health, you will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI scans for interpretation by radiologists. Your expertise will be essential in manipulating exams to better serve patient requirements, adjusting parameters to meet individual needs, and prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI scans with precision and accuracy, adhering to ACR guidelines and quality control standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and maintain advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, MRI procedures, and patient care skills.
- Manage patient flow, obtain pertinent medical information, and perform vital signs monitoring as needed.
- Start, maintain, and remove IVs and power injectors, and administer contrast media with caution and expertise.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
- ARRT certification in MRI, with one year to complete for new hires.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- IV certification preferred.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to various body fluids and magnetic fields.
- Lifting, transferring, and positioning patients and equipment in excess of 50 pounds on a regular basis.
