Radiologic Technologist

This position performs a variety of radiology procedures which can include x-ray, CT, MRI, and/or Ultrasound to obtain diagnostic images. Procedures can include long bone and body imaging, as well as a wide range of exams to image soft tissue with the assistance of radiographic contrast. The Technologist will assist the Radiologist in any image-guided procedures. Follows established protocols as well as being able to make adjustments to set parameters on the operating console to compensate for different patient conditions all while keeping time in the gantry at a minimum while still producing high-quality diagnostic images. Documents important patient history as related to the procedure. Prepares the exam room and tray setup for invasive procedures. For CT/MRI must be proficient at starting IVs to inject contrast media via an automatic injector and by IVP. Communicates well with other staff, creating an atmosphere of teamwork, as well as physician offices to ensure accuracy in order information contributing to the efficient operation of the department. Participates in accreditation and quality initiatives and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Training Program in a JCERT-approved school which meets the requirements of the ARRT. Able to enter a magnetic field.
- Must have two of the three registries:
- ARRT(CT)
- ARRT(MRI)
- ARRT(S)(BS) or ARDMS
- One year of previous experience in at least two of the three modalities:
- CT
- MRI
- Ultrasound
- CPR certification or must obtain at next available class upon hire.

- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to carry out duties in a professional manner, as well as the ability to work well under stress.
- Developed computer skills and the ability to learn and proficiently perform computer applications related to department operations and job function.
- Excellent customer service skills with special emphasis on patient-centered care.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of any confidential matter or information encountered during the performance of job duties.
- Typical hospital clinical environment with frequent standing and walking.
- Work may be subject to interruptions.
- Risk of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious, electrical, and radiation hazards.
- Works with protected health information.
- Ability to work any shift, occasional extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends based on the needs of the department.
- Standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling to provide patient care and to utilize patient care devices necessary to perform duties in a safe manner.
- Uses computer and other standard office equipment.
- Uses patient care tools and equipment as they relate to the area of clinical specialty.
