Job Summary

This position performs a variety of radiology procedures, including x-ray, CT, MRI, and/or Ultrasound, to obtain diagnostic images. The technologist will assist the radiologist in image-guided procedures, follow established protocols, and make adjustments to set parameters on the operating console to compensate for different patient conditions. The technologist will also document important patient history related to the procedure, prepare the exam room and tray setup for invasive procedures, and communicate well with other staff and physician offices to ensure accuracy in order information.

Responsibilities
  • Perform radiology procedures, including x-ray, CT, MRI, and/or Ultrasound, to obtain diagnostic images.
  • Assist the radiologist in image-guided procedures.
  • Follow established protocols and make adjustments to set parameters on the operating console to compensate for different patient conditions.
  • Document important patient history related to the procedure.
  • Prepare the exam room and tray setup for invasive procedures.
  • Communicate well with other staff and physician offices to ensure accuracy in order information.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Training Program in a JCERT-approved school that meets the requirements of the ARRT.
  • Must have two of the three registries: ARRT(CT), ARRT(MRI), or ARRT(S)(BS) or ARDMS.
  • One year of previous experience in at least two of the three modalities: CT, MRI, or Ultrasound.
  • CPR certification or must obtain at the next available class upon hire.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively and tactfully communicate with patients and their families and guests, co-workers, managers, Hospital Administrators, providers, consultants, business associates, and regulatory agencies.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to carry out duties in a professional manner and the ability to work well under stress.
  • Developed computer skills and the ability to learn and proficiently perform computer applications related to department operations and job function.
  • Excellent customer service skills with special emphasis on patient-centered care.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of any confidential matter or information encountered during the performance of job duties.
