This position involves technical work for substation systems operating at voltages from 34.5kV to 500kV, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of high-voltage substation design methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed design documents and schematics for various projects, including wiring diagrams and material lists.
  • Conduct engineering support activities such as relay burden analysis, lighting assessments, load flow studies, and short circuit evaluations.
  • Employ engineering software tools for ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and load flow evaluations.
  • Work closely with project engineers to ensure compliance with schedules and standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Oversee project operations and manage documentation with precision.
  • Offer on-site support and training as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in substation engineering design; senior positions require 7 or more years.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory for senior roles or the capability to obtain one within a year.
  • Expertise in AC/DC fundamentals, three-phase power systems, and substation components.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
