Job Title: Structural Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Structural Fitter to join our team at LaborOne Staffing. As a Structural Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fitting structural, plate, and mechanical materials into various assemblies.

Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, section and plan drawings, and weld symbols to derive measurements, dimensions, and quantity of material needed.
  • Unload, sort, and stack heavy steel pieces, then hoist them into place for fastening.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel products, including beams, braces, pipes, and plates.
  • Lay out and fit pipe, beams, decks, and jackets; frame skids, bends, and elevations for jackets; cut plate, pipe, and beams using a cutting torch.
  • Use industry tools and equipment, including Come-a-longs, chain falls, and stop plates, dogs, and pad eyes.
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities, and determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed for a work activity.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, and take corrective action as needed.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in the field or a related area.
  • Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for the position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools, as well as measurement tools.
Working Conditions:
  • Able to meet all physical requirements.
  • Must have all required tools.
  • Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft).
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
