Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Motor Design Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing high-efficiency electric motors and generators for our space-based applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-efficiency electric motors and generators for space-based applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate motor designs into our spacecraft and launch systems
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications and documentation for motor designs
  • Conduct testing and validation of motor designs to ensure compliance with performance and safety requirements
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in electric motor design and development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in electric motor design and development
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic design principles and motor control systems
  • Experience with CAD design tools and simulation software
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with high-speed data acquisition systems and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of motor control systems, including speed and torque control, sensor feedback, and closed-loop position
  • Experience with FEA tools for structural and thermal analysis
  • Knowledge of gas bearing turbomachinery components
