About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team at National Church Residences. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our residential properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs of resident units and common areas, including carpentry, painting, and other general repairs.
  • Prepare vacant units for move-in, including painting, cleaning, and ensuring all necessary repairs are completed.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning, including inspections and testing, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of security systems, fire alarms, and door locks.
  • Adhere to a schedule and take on-call duties as directed.
  • Perform landscaping duties, including lawn mowing, hedge trimming, and bed maintenance, as needed.
  • Clean common areas, including emptying trash, dusting, and vacuuming, polishing and cleaning furniture, and maintaining fixtures and window ledges.
  • Remove trash from common areas and maintain the dumpster area.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Follow all Material Data Safety Sheets and instructions regarding the use, disposal, or spills of hazardous materials.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with residents, coworkers, community leaders, owners, management, vendors, and service providers.
  • Treat all residents and staff with respect and dignity.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of maintenance experience, with knowledge of janitorial equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Good mechanical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to work well independently and coordinate with others.
  • Proficiency in computer or tablet software, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
