POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Portfolio Manager operates autonomously within established investment policy frameworks to devise, propose, and implement investment strategies aimed at fulfilling the objectives of large and intricate client accounts.

While functioning within the Bank's risk tolerance, the Senior Portfolio Manager achieves outcomes by consistently identifying, evaluating, managing, monitoring, and reporting various types of risks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Cultivate client satisfaction and generate new asset management revenue through regular interactions, particularly for substantial and complex portfolios.

- Collaborate with major client relationships to establish investment goals and execute an appropriate investment strategy, maintaining an Investment Policy Statement for each client.

- Partner with client advisors to explore new business opportunities by engaging with potential clients and preparing comprehensive investment management proposals.

- Interpret trust or agency agreements to formulate an investment policy that aligns with client objectives.

- Allocate assets in accordance with investment policy guidelines to achieve competitive returns while managing risk levels.

- Regularly liaise with members of the Wealth Management Team and external advisors to ensure effective communication regarding client objectives and to coordinate portfolio adjustments.

- Stay informed about emerging investment strategies, techniques, and products through ongoing engagement with industry professionals and thorough research.

- Monitor market trends and assess their impact on client investment portfolios.

- Remain updated on legal and tax considerations related to investment decisions by consulting with legal and financial experts as necessary.

- Adhere to established investment policies and procedures, including conducting annual account reviews and minimizing/documenting exceptions.


QUALIFICATIONS:

- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with a preference for candidates holding advanced degrees such as an MBA or CFA.

- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in money management, particularly in investment decision-making.

- Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for success in this role.
