Nurse Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Summit Medical Management, LLC. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in nursing, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced preoperative and hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Patient Care:
- Provide hands-on care to patients in the preoperative area and on the hospital floor, including conducting patient assessments, administering medications, and monitoring patient progress.
- Manage the preoperative assessment and preparation of patients, ensuring all necessary tests and documentation are completed.
- Educate patients and their families about preoperative procedures, expectations, and postoperative care.
- Address patient concerns and offer support and education to both patients and their families throughout their hospital stay.
- Staff Supervision and Training:
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, with a focus on enhancing patient care skills.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing staff, emphasizing patient-centered care.
- Manage staff scheduling and shift assignments to ensure adequate staffing levels for optimal patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and nursing standards, focusing on patient outcomes.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Act as a liaison between the preoperative department, hospital floor, and other hospital units.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and coordinate services.
- Maintain open and effective communication with all members of the healthcare team.
- Quality Improvement:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care in the preoperative department and on the hospital floor.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance patient care and department efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and reports.
- Administrative Duties:
- Work with the Nurse Manager to schedule staff and manage daily workflows in both the preoperative department and hospital.
- Ensure that all equipment and supplies are available and in good working condition.
- Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, and managing budgets.
- ADN required, bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current RN license in the state of Kansas.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a pre-op or hospital floor setting. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required;
This is a full-time position; may require evening or weekend shifts.
