About the Role

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Human Services Coordinator I to join our team in the Worcester Area Office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate the development of Individual Service Plans (ISPs) for assigned caseloads, ensuring that individuals receive appropriate services and support.
  • Monitor the safety and well-being of assigned individuals, providing advocacy and support as needed.
  • Facilitate team meetings and maintain regular contact with individuals, service providers, and families to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Arrange and provide crisis intervention as needed, assessing needs and making recommendations for follow-up planning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to develop and maintain respectful, caring, and empowering relationships with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of self-direction concepts and commitment to person-centered practices.
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts' Real Lives legislation.
Requirements
  • At least three years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience in human services work or social work.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field may substitute for two years of experience.
