Position Overview: Custodian

The primary responsibility of our Custodian is to ensure a clean and professionally maintained environment within our processing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse area.
  • Restock necessary supplies such as gloves, paper towels, isopropyl, and other consumables as required.
  • Ensure the main office area is tidy and presentable.
  • Oversee the cleaning and upkeep of the breakroom and restrooms, which includes:
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors.
  • Cleaning windows.
  • Operating floor cleaning machines and scrubbers.
  • Collaborate with third-party cleaning vendors for mop head exchanges and scrub collection.
  • Daily removal and disposal of trash in designated receptacles.
  • Monitor paper supplies and reorder as necessary.
  • Ensure proper handling of all recycling materials.
  • Responsible for the accurate collection and recording of facility green waste in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Remove cigarette butts from the exterior premises.
Additional Duties:
All other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age for legal compliance.
  • Successful completion of a Federal and State criminal history background check is required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is necessary.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of prior janitorial experience is preferred.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to accommodate scheduling needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Exhibit personal accountability, proactive behavior, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent observational skills.
  • Capacity to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Adherence to all HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Maintain respectful and open communication with management and colleagues.
Work Schedule:
  • On-site work is required five days a week.
Physical Requirements:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • This role requires sitting, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift. Flexibility is necessary as tasks may vary.
  • Ability to carry loads of up to 75 lbs repeatedly during the day.
  • This position involves repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers for tasks such as cutting and manipulating small objects.
  • As this is a cannabis processing facility, employees may encounter strong odors, bright lights, and various sounds during work hours.
  • Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
  • Employees are required to wear scrubs, masks, gloves, and hairnets while handling plants, with supplies provided by DCM Services.
