Licensed Practical Nurse, Institutional Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Department of Mental Health. As a vital member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for providing direct care to adult psychiatric patients. Your expertise and compassion will play a crucial role in helping our patients achieve optimal health outcomes.
**About the Job:**
• Provide routine and specialized patient care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Administer medications, treatments, and perform other nursing procedures as ordered by a physician or authorized practitioner.
• Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients who have diverse backgrounds, disabilities, and co-occurring disorders.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on patient progress and treatment plans.
**Requirements:**
• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing and one year of nursing experience.
• Successful completion of an eighty-hour pharmacology course may be substituted for one year of experience requirement.
• Licensure as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) with the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state nursing license.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to work at an in-patient facility serving mentally ill adults.
