Job Summary:
The Critical Care Technician is a vital member of the Intensive Care Department team, working collaboratively with nursing staff to provide exceptional patient care. This role involves performing a range of delegated tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring a safe and well-organized patient environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist RN with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients as required.
- Observe patient conditions, recognize changes, and report findings to the RN.
- Clean, procure, and return equipment and supplies.
- Operate patient monitoring equipment, record vital signs, and perform special procedures as directed.
- Chart in electronic Health Record as appropriate.
- Maintain competency in performing assigned patient care responsibilities.
- Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate unique patient needs.
- Perform clerical duties, including processing orders and notifications.
- Assist clinical staff with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
- Obtain diagnostic test results and provide them to nursing staff.
- Perform quality assurance on charts and respond to staff, patient, and visitor requests.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in hospital patient care or acute-care setting preferred.
- BLScertification required.
- Current in ONE of the following certifications required: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Tech (PCT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic.
