We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as the French Language Program Director at the University of California, Santa Barbara. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to lead the development and implementation of our French language curriculum, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment for students and colleagues alike.

**Key Responsibilities**

Lead the French language program from elementary to intermediate levels

Mentor and support lecturers and teaching associates

Develop and implement pedagogy that promotes student learning and success

Teach five courses per year, including bridge courses and upper-division literature or culture courses

**Requirements and Qualifications**

PhD in French (or equivalent foreign degree) required; native or near-native fluency in French is essential

Pedagogical expertise in Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or French for the Professions is highly desirable

Familiarity with technology related to language teaching, including the ability to create hybrid and fully online courses, is also preferred

The University of California, Santa Barbara offers a competitive salary range of $82,200 - $111,800 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
