  • Perform wound care as directed, including cleaning and irrigation, as well as assisting with various procedures such as NG tube insertion and urinary catheter management.
  • Support patients in understanding self-care practices as instructed by the healthcare provider.
  • Identify and respond to urgent medical situations according to established protocols.
  • Guide patients through system policies and procedures.
  • Provide patients with instructional materials based on provider recommendations.
  • Document patient responses to treatments and medications accurately.
  • Conduct skin tests and immunizations as part of a comprehensive health program.
  • Prepare treatment areas for surgical and examination procedures by organizing necessary instruments and equipment.
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor surgical interventions.
  • Ensure patient safety throughout all procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment.
  • Participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, such as managing patient records and facilitating communication between patients and providers.
Qualifications:
Experience:
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and safety protocols.
Education:
  • Capacity to comprehend and execute both verbal and written instructions.
Licensure and Certification:
  • Current Vocational Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support Certification

Additional Information:
  • Must be available for on-call duties.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
  • Potential to provide support across various pediatric service locations.
