We are seeking a highly skilled Erosion Control Inspector to join our team at the City of Winston-Salem, NC. As a key member of our Traffic Field Operations Division, you will play a critical role in enforcing our Erosion Control, Floodplain Development, and Water Supply Watershed Protection ordinances.
Key Responsibilities- Provide pre-planning assistance and feedback to developers and design professionals on Erosion Control, Floodplain Development, and Water Supply Watershed Protection ordinance requirements.
- Review plans through our electronic plan review system to ensure compliance with ordinances.
- Perform on-site inspections to determine compliance with approved plans and ordinance requirements.
- Build and track enforcement actions, including Notices of Violation and Civil Penalty Assessments.
- Maintain a GIS database of assigned projects and complete monthly reports on project activity.
- Associate's degree in civil engineering, landscape architecture, environmental science, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in enforcement of laws or regulations, construction, and/or inspection of Erosion Control measure installation.
- Knowledge of local governmental ordinances regulating Erosion Control, Floodplain Development, and Water Supply Watershed Protection.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with property owners, building contractors, City officials, and coworkers.
