Position Overview:

This role primarily involves custodial duties, with a smaller portion dedicated to maintenance assistance. The individual will ensure the campus remains clean and functionally efficient. Daily cleaning tasks will be assigned and may include, but are not limited to, the following: cleaning, sanitizing, polishing, waste collection, and maintaining the grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a clean and operationally efficient campus by performing daily cleaning tasks such as:
  • Vacuuming and mopping floors
  • Emptying waste receptacles
  • Disinfecting surfaces and clinic areas
  • Cleaning restrooms
  • Washing windows and mirrors
  • Dusting furniture
  • Keeping a cleaning log to track completed tasks
  • Restocking cleaning and maintenance supplies
  • Organizing janitorial storage spaces
  • Reporting unsafe conditions or repair needs to the supervisor
Assist with light maintenance tasks to ensure the building is well-maintained, including:
  • Helping to move equipment and furniture
  • Assisting with outdoor grounds maintenance
  • Changing light bulbs and performing minor repairs

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

1+ years in a cleaning or maintenance role; 3+ years of experience in a university or college setting is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Capability to walk or run at a brisk pace
  • Basic math skills for mixing cleaning solutions
  • Familiarity with Office 365 and other software programs

Other Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in operating cleaning equipment
  • Safe handling of cleaning supplies
  • Ability to use hand and power tools relevant to the trade
  • Understanding of safety procedures and ability to follow instructions
  • Time management skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
