Overview

Catholic Health Initiatives is seeking a highly skilled Plastic Surgeon to join our team at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. As a Plastic Surgeon, you will play a vital role in our Division of Plastic Surgery, working closely with our Surgical Oncology team to provide high-quality care to patients in Nebraska and Southwest Iowa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions, including breast cancer and other plastic surgery-related conditions.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, working closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories, using your expertise to provide accurate diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing clear and concise medical information and fostering a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans, and ensuring compliance with coding and billing regulations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging, and perform procedures as needed, collaborating with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.
  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals, participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions, and providing consultative services to other healthcare providers.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, reviewing and analyzing clinical outcomes for continuous improvement, and implementing changes to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice, staying informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, and participating in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices, participating in ongoing medical education and training, and contributing to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
  • American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery
  • A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible
