Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with senior engineers and management to enhance your skills and expertise. Responsible for generating project documentation, including models, drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), job plans, and weld maps. Conduct time studies and evaluate process capabilities for manufacturing operations.

Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost reductions. Assist the procurement and estimating teams in sourcing materials and subcontracting services. Review project specifications and Statements of Work (SOWs) to create designs that meet BE Peterson and industry standards. Support Operations and Quality teams in ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products to customers. Coordinate with ASME Authorized Inspectors (AI) for inspections and design approval sign-offs. Collaborate with the sales team to assess customer designs and work with clients to optimize designs and minimize costs.

Engage in additional projects and company initiatives as necessary.

Technical Skills Required:
Proficient knowledge of metal fabrication processes, including machining, drilling, turning, milling, cutting, bending, and welding. Experience applying ASME B&PV code ASME VIII DIV 1 in pressure vessel design. Familiarity with ASME code calculation software for pressure vessel design (such as Compress, PV Elite, or similar).


Ability to identify design improvement opportunities and effectively communicate ideas to management and clients. Capable of working independently and conducting self-reviews of work when necessary.

Proficient in SolidWorks 3D modeling software. Experience with ERP systems. Professional communication skills across various mediums. Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn. Adaptability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:
Experience in 2D drafting. Familiarity with additional ASME Codes, including ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3. Experience with nesting software, GD&T, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Mechanical or Materials. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the field.
