This full-time, on-site position is ideal for engineers looking to deepen their expertise in geotechnical and civil engineering while working closely with experienced professionals.

The position offers stability, with most projects located within the five boroughs of New York City. There is minimal long-distance travel required, allowing for consistent local work with occasional site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform geotechnical analysis and calculations, overseeing construction monitoring and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and implement monitoring plans, including soil, optical, and vibration monitoring, in alignment with SOE plans and NYC building code 3309.
  • Work closely with field staff and office engineers to ensure accurate reporting and communication with contractors and clients.
  • Manage project documentation, prepare technical reports, and lead or participate in project meetings and conference calls.
  • Collaborate with Instrumentation Engineers to install and use instruments such as piezometers, inclinometers, and vibration monitors.

Qualifications:

  • A New York PE License is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is required (a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred).
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, construction inspection, or similar fields.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical instrumentation, logging exploratory borings, and documenting instrument data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Familiarity with NYC Department of Buildings codes and construction regulations.
  • Willingness to work in various field conditions and travel to local project sites as needed.

Why Work with Us?

  • Contribute to a wide range of complex and engaging geotechnical projects, including underground structures and foundations, all within New York City.
  • We offer excellent career progression, with the chance to strengthen your engineering skills and work on high-profile local projects.
  • We provide a competitive salary, overtime pay, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) matching, paid holidays, and health benefits.
  • Enjoy the stability of working on local projects with minimal travel outside the NYC metro area, allowing you to stay close to home.

Salary Range: up to $150,000

Benefits: Full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer matching, paid vacation, sick leave, certification exam reimbursement, and more.
