Position Overview: As the Executive Director for COMNAVAIRFORES, you will assume a pivotal role in the absence of the Commander and Deputy Commander, ensuring seamless operations across various program functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Indirectly supervise a team of approximately 25 civilian personnel, serving as the senior rating official for additional staff members across various grade levels.
- Provide expert technical guidance and strategic direction to military Deputy Chiefs of Staff and Special Assistants, overseeing executive-level operations within subordinate commands.
- Direct and coordinate the efforts of subordinate supervisors, team leaders, and contractors to achieve organizational objectives.
- Engage with high-ranking officials to address significant organizational matters and provide advisory support to senior management.
- Ensure the efficient functioning of the staff through effective delegation of tasks to the Deputy Chief of Staff and Special Assistants, maintaining clear communication with the Commander and Deputy on staff assignments.
- Interface with Echelon III, IV, and V commanders on critical issues, including complaints, inquiries, and investigations.
- Apply sound judgment to uphold the ethical, efficient, and effective operation of COMNAVAIRFORES.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and suitable for federal employment.
- Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory.
- Successful completion of the E-Verify employment verification check is required.
- Must meet time-in-grade requirements for current federal employees applying for GS jobs.
- Retired military members must adhere to specific appointment provisions.
- Drill weekend work and overtime may be necessary.
- Travel may be required to various locations, including remote sites.
- Must obtain and maintain a security clearance prior to starting the position.
- Completion of a pre-employment drug test is mandatory.
Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, showcasing:
- Expertise in managing and equipping Force Reserves for deployment.
- Senior executive-level experience in program management, policy formulation, and integration of program requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of strategic theories and regulations related to program management.
- Experience in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling work effectively.
- Proficiency in managing fiscal and budgetary requirements.
- Ability to evaluate and analyze program performance and resolve related issues.
Additional Information: This position is part of the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program, and additional vacancies may be filled through this announcement. Federal annuitants and displaced employees must meet specific eligibility criteria to be considered.
