Are you passionate about empowering students? We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers at Henderson Collegiate who are eager to work with small groups of learners.

At Henderson Collegiate, each Special Education teacher is paired with an instructional coach to assist in navigating the challenges of guiding student learning and delivering rigorous educational content. Regular observations and one-on-one meetings with your coach will help refine your teaching abilities and address student learning gaps.

A bachelor's degree is mandatory, with a salary range of $46,000 to $78,000 based on educational qualifications and experience. Candidates must possess or be pursuing a Special Education teaching certification.

Your Role

  • Exhibit resilience. Demonstrate the stamina and capability to set and accomplish ambitious goals while thriving in a demanding school environment.
  • Develop your curriculum. Engage in the intellectual preparation necessary to create and refine assessments, unit plans, lesson plans, and instructional materials that ignite student interest.
  • Deliver impactful instruction. Lead students in both whole-class and small-group settings, fostering curiosity and a love for learning while adapting instruction based on data to meet diverse needs.
  • Uphold high standards. Implement and maintain Henderson Collegiate's values and policies to effectively manage classrooms and guide students towards achieving exceptional academic and character expectations.
  • Commit to continuous improvement. Engage in constructive feedback exchanges with colleagues to cultivate a professional atmosphere that aspires to excellence and fosters ongoing development.
  • Build strong relationships. Establish meaningful connections with students, families, and staff to nurture a joyful and supportive community, ensuring open communication regarding student progress.

Additional Information

  • Requirements: A Bachelor's degree and current or pursuing certification in Special Education are essential.
  • Preferred: Experience in teaching within low-income communities is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, with a comprehensive benefits package. Teachers are provided with necessary technology and resources for their classrooms.
  • Work Schedule: The school day is extended, with staff hours from 7:20 am to 4:15 pm, including professional development one day a week.
