Job Summary:

Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly skilled Early Career Software Engineer to join our team in Syracuse, NY. As a key member of our Rotary and Mission Systems team, you will collaborate with a diverse group of technical professionals to design, develop, and implement software programming applications using agile methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications for target systems.
  • Write source code for new applications and generate and enhance code for existing applications.
  • Perform code reviews, optimize algorithms, and conduct experiments to ensure the functionality and performance of products or solutions.
  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities.
  • Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
  • Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
  • Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
  • Ensure program-specific software standards are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent STEM field.
  • Academic or professional experience using C++, C, C#, Java, or similar programming languages.
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Basic understanding of Object-Oriented Development.
  • Basic understanding of Agile Development.
  • Basic understanding of Software Configuration Management.
  • Working knowledge of Git/GitLab.
  • Academic or professional experience in Database design and development.
  • Operating systems development experience with Linux.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington, or Washington DC is $57,800 - $110,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.

Non-represented full-time employees:

accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $66,500 - $125,300.
