Nutrition Specialist Job Description

At Renewal Unlimited, we are seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and implementing nutrition services for pregnant mothers and children from infancy through age 5. This includes reviewing nutrition assessments, working with teachers and families to ensure special dietary needs are addressed as needed, and promoting child well-being through nutrition education activities for children and families. The Nutrition Specialist will also create a cycle menu for children, ensuring all Child Care Food Program requirements are met for infancy through preschool-aged children. Additionally, the candidate will order appropriate food quantities through a food supply company, provide annual and orientation training for cooks, and monitor kitchens to ensure compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess accurate data entry and data management skills to ensure compliance with grant requirements. They will also work as part of a collaborative team with other Head Start Specialists and be able to work independently, possess good time management and organizational skills, work well with children and families, and have the ability to problem solve. A registered Dietician or Nutritionist is required for this position. Travel within 5 counties is required. Benefits include health, dental, life, retirement, and more. EEO/AA Employer.

Job Requirements:
